Overview

The Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) is a body of elected and public members who make decisions on a number of different development and subdivision applications. Decisions made by MPC are subject to a twenty-one (21) day appeal period (unless the use is permitted and MPC is being consulted for input and direction).

Applications

Applications to be considered by MPC are reviewed by the Development Officer, and a report is prepared and forwarded on to MPC in advance of the meeting for review. Notification of these proposals are also sent to neighbouring property owners who are provided approximately 2-3 weeks to make comments in advance of the meeting.   All decisions are subject to the twenty-one (21) day appeal period, with all decisions being posted on the City of Lacombe’s website, and in a local newspaper and a sign posted on the property
