This project aims to develop a ‘South Connector Functional Plan’ that is supported and understood by the community, federal research and development agencies, and private landowners and to identify the long-term road right-of-way requirements. The project team will meet with private landowners and invite key stakeholders to a series of workshops starting in May to identify an optimum roadway alignment and footprint for the future ring road. The key stakeholders include:
• City of Lacombe,
• Lacombe County,
• Alberta Transportation,
• Canadian Pacific Railway,
• Field Crop Development (Olds College),
• Agriculture and Agri-Foods Canada.
This functional planning study is funded 100% by the Alberta Community Partnership Grant in collaboration with the City and County.
