Councillor Proud

Kim Proud

City Council
Title: Councillor

Councillor Kim Proud moved to Lacombe in 1995 to complete her Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in Management, through Burman University. She quickly felt at home in Lacombe due to its amenities, recreation opportunities, and strong sense of community.

From 2002 to 2011, she worked for Red Deer Polytechnic in International Admissions and Academic Advising—roles that provided extensive experience in public service and opened opportunities to complete Human Resource Management courses through the University of Alberta. Since 2011, she has been involved in property management, raising her family, and participating in numerous community volunteer activities.

Councillor Proud has served for six years on the College Heights Christian School Board, contributing to its policy, discipline, and fundraising committees. She continues to volunteer with the Home and School Leadership Committee, supporting initiatives that strengthen connections between home, school, church, and community.

She and her husband volunteer weekly as food rescue drivers for the Lacombe Food Bank. Her family has also dedicated many years to service through the Lacombe Fire Department, local schools, and their church.

Outside her volunteer commitments, Councillor Proud enjoys running Lacombe’s nature trails, sharing meals and board games with family and friends, camping, and exploring new destinations—especially those with hiking trails, cafés, and bookstores.

Councillor Proud is passionate about supporting a vibrant Lacombe where residents, families, and businesses can thrive. She is committed to fostering a safe, stable, and high-quality community that remains a strong place for investment, growth, and long-term living.
