Councillor Contenti

Chris (Rocky) Contenti

City Council
Title: Councillor

Councillor Chris (Rocky) Contenti has long understood the importance of community and brings a strong commitment to service to his role on Lacombe City Council. Having spent most of his life in Central Alberta, he and his wife chose to make Lacombe their home in 2022 after returning from three years of volunteer work on Quadra Island, BC. Drawn to Lacombe’s small-town feel and strong community spirit, he immediately began volunteering with local organizations and offering support wherever needed.

Councillor Contenti served 32 years in Municipal Affairs and Public Safety, developing a deep understanding of local and provincial government operations and the foundations of strong, resilient communities. He continues to share that expertise today by teaching online webinars for the Safety Codes Council of Alberta.

His volunteer history includes contributions to the Royal Canadian Legion—where he currently serves on the Executive—the Municipal Planning Commission, and various children’s programs and camps. He remains active in his church, hosting a group for young families twice a month to help build connection and support.

Whether assisting the Lacombe Fire Department, supporting Fish and Wildlife, or helping a neighbour complete a project, Councillor Contenti finds fulfillment in lending a hand. Known for his warm, approachable nature, he is often described as someone who “never meets a stranger—only a new friend.”

He enjoys spending time with his wife and family, reading, learning, biking, camping, and working on practical projects. As a City Councillor, he is committed to staying engaged with residents, strengthening community relationships, and contributing to Lacombe’s continued growth as a welcoming and vibrant city.
