Reuben Konnik


Reuben Konnik is serving his third term on Council. He was first elected in October 2010.  He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta, majoring in Political Science. 

Reuben has lived in Lacombe for the past 12 years and has come to love this community not only for its amenities but also for its strong volunteerism, which he feels is a huge contributing factor to the overall success of the community.

Reuben currently works as a realtor for Royal Lepage Lifestyles Realty in Lacombe. 

Community Involvement

Reuben’s involvement in the community has included spending three years as a trustee with St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic School Board.  He has been a member of the Knights of Columbus for 16 years. Outside of volunteering in the community, Reuben enjoys spending time with family, reading books and playing board games with his kids. 

Municipal Role

Councillor Konnik was re-elected in October 2017. He has sat on many boards and committees over his time in office, and currently serves on the following:
  • Lacombe Police Commission
  • Affordable Housing Strategy Steering Committee
  • Subdivision and Development Appeal Board
  • Inter City Forum on Social Policy
  • Council Remuneration Review Committee
