Municipal animal control contract awarded
Lacombe, November 29, 2017 – At its regular meeting on November 27, 2017, Council awarded a three-year contract for animal control services to Klassic Kennels of Red Deer County. The contract includes impoundment services for dogs and cats, after hours pick up and patrols, when necessary.
“We look forward to working with Klassic Kennels over the next three years, to continue to exceed the level of service that our residents have come to expect,” said Acting Corporate Services Director Diane Piche. “We would like to thank Central Animal Services for their service and commitment to the City of Lacombe over the past few years.”
The agreement with Klassic Kennels will be in effect from December 1, 2017, to November 30, 2020.
The total three-year contract cost is $75,600, based on fees and an average of five impounds per month. The yearly average cost is $25,200.
