Higher turnout for 2017 Lacombe Election Advance Polls

Lacombe, Alberta (October 12, 2017) – Results from the two advance polls (September 30 and October 11) for the 2017 Lacombe municipal election indicate that nearly 400 eligible voters took the opportunity to beat the Election Day rush to get their vote in early, up from 303 in the 2013 election – an increase of 24 per cent.
“We are ready for Election Day at the Lacombe Memorial Centre on Monday, October 16, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and look forward to serving the electors of Lacombe,” said Returning Officer Dion Pollard. “Electors are also reminded to bring along proper identification in order to vote.”

3294 out of approximately 8800 eligible electors cast their votes in the 2013 Lacombe Election, a 37 per cent voter turnout. For the 2017 Election, around 10,000 residents are eligible to vote.
